In response, Niteshift, a new startup founded by former Datadog engineers, has secured $7 million in seed funding to provide an alternative to these larger models. The founders argue that companies are increasingly cautious about relying on dominant AI entities, fearing competition and potential risks to their own operations, reminiscent of the retail apocalypse triggered by Amazon's rise.
